Page 1 of 3 Hoosier Vintage Thunderbird Club News Indiana's Most Active Thunderbird Club Sept. 2008 Hello Club Members, What a great turnout we had for our August Event, The 16th Annual BF Goodrich Shine and Show. We had a total of 11 Thunderbirds, 1 Thundervette, 1 Fierobird, and 1 Thundertruck in the show. Club Members included Lowell Lepper, Clyde Stevens, Doug and Karen McConnell, Greg and Amy Minnich, Ric Echler, Darrell Will, Paul Karris and Barb DeFord, Tom Butler, Jeff and Cindy Evans, Larry Sneary, Jim McCann and Sandy, Dave Costa, Bob Elzey, and myself. Our Thunderbirds didn't fair so well in judging this year, but with nearly 400 cars in the show, the competision was pretty tough. Congratulations to Ric Echler in his 1965 Thunderbird Special Limited Edition Landau, to Jim McCann in his stunning 1957 Thunderbird Convertible, and to Bob Elzey in his 1948 Ford Panel Truck, who all placed in the Top 70, Best of Show. We made a pretty sight going down I-469 and US 24 East, with our caravan stretching nearly two miles long. It's the simple things in life that just make me feel proud to be an American. Or to be the owner of "The World's Most Wanted Car." We met a couple of other Thunderbird owners at the show. We gave them information on our club and we hope that they will join us! Come to think of it, none of us won any of those great door prizes or any of those 10 sets of tires given away. Still, we always have a great time whenever we get together, and I guess there is always next year.
